Designing Online Communities

I didn't have the attention span to watch the entire video, but I'm posting it because I think it starts out with an interesting question: can we use social science theories in developing online communities?

So this video suggests the intentionality of online community structure. Meaning that communities are purposefully designed more than evolved. Which sort of contradicts what I've written here. And I think it's interesting.
